This one-day introduction to riding a motorcycle is open to everyone, even if you don’t have a licence. Small groups of 2 or 3 riders mean that you’ll get plenty of attention (private lessons are possible for a small surcharge). By the end of the day, you can be riding competently and safely around the streets of Pokhara on a custom bike! |
|
First, you’ll learn basic bike control in a safe, traffic-free environment. You’ll soon be accelerating, braking, selecting gears and maneuvering. When you’re ready, your instructor will guide you around beautiful, quiet roads before moving on to slow speed traffic skills. |

This intensive one-day course is for road riders looking to sharpen their cornering skills. Anyone can twist a throttle in a straight line, but great cornering takes technique and lots of practice. Our structured approach will transform your riding; you’ll be safer, smoother and faster. |
|
You’ll learn how to read corners better, and exactly what inputs to give the bike from approach to exit. Many riders find they’ve been doing the opposite, because most fast riding techniques are counter-intuitive (instincts, car driving experience, and self-teaching all lead riders to do the wrong things). So we’ll explode some common motorcycle myths:
|
The myth |
The reality |
Turn left to go left, and lean into a bend |
Turn right to go left. Really. It’s called counter-steering |
Clip the apex like a Formula 1 driver |
Find the bike line to go in deeper and come out harder |
Look at what’s in front of you |
Don’t - if you look at it, you’ll hit it |
Lean more to corner faster |
Lean less to corner faster and safer |
Slow down for a bend, then accelerate out of the corner |
Use vanishing points to accelerate into a corner |
Use the clutch to change up a gear |
Clutchless shifts are smoother and faster |
Do not brake in a bend |
Drag the back brake for stability |
Sit on the bike and hold on with your hands |
Optimise your body position and hold on with your legs |
Riding gives an adrenaline rush |
Adrenaline is your enemy – relax |
| More power gives more speed |
Maybe, but more skill makes you much safer and faster |
|

Nepal’s geography and climate make it a great place to learn, and small groups of 2-3 riders mean that you’ll get really effective coaching (private lessons are possible for a small surcharge). If you’ve got any driving license (eg for a car), you can learn on the Club’s custom bikes. Discounts apply if you ride your own motorcycle or a rental bike. |
